Cool Technology Tools for Schools

What are Cool Tools?

ATC defines "Cool Tools" as any new (or new-ish) technology, learning space or web application that increases student engagement, supports authentic learning, or provides social networking capabilities. And like the technologies themselves, this definition changes over time as both the technology and it's usage changes.

How Do I Create A Title Slide for my PhotoStory Creation?

Open PowerPoint

  • Add any text that you would like on the slide (You can use WordArt if you want – instead of plain text)

  • Move the text anywhere you want it to be on the slide

  • Change the font style, size as necessary
  • Add any clipart or actual pictures you want to the slide

  • Once you have the slide exactly the way you want it to look. Right click and select save as picture. When the box appears, it should automatically appear to save in the folder my pictures and at the bottom give you a space to type a file name. Save it there or in your photostory folder where your other pictures are. Type in the file name you want to call this picture and right below that line it says save as file type. Click on the down arrow by file type and change the file type to jpeg.
  • Click OK.
You'll probably want to create a bibliography slide the same way

  • Now, go back into PhotoStory3 and at the "import picture" screen you will be able to add the customized jpeg pictures you created in PowerPoint.
